What is Ozil goal AI?

Ozil goal AI is a short-video trend from October 2026. People use AI to put themselves, a friend or a grandparent into one specific goal: Mesut Özil's late winner for Arsenal against Ludogorets Razgrad in the UEFA Champions League on 1 November 2016. The joke is an ordinary person in jeans or a cardigan finishing a Champions League winner.

It is not a text-to-video prompt and not a song. The trend copies a vertical slow-motion cut of the real goal posted on TikTok by @masod.ozil91 on 13 July 2026. Most people make their version with a CapCut template (tags #capcut #pioneertemplate #ozilaigoal), some with Higgsfield, and Brazilian TikTok calls it "Golaço do Özil".

This site does the same thing from one photo. The AI keeps the keeper, the defenders, the stadium and the camera, and replaces only the scorer with the person in your photo, in the clothes they wear in it. You pick 5, 10 or 15 seconds; only 15 seconds shows the whole goal through to the finish.

The "M" hand celebration Özil made after other goals is a separate search topic and is not part of this trend.

The original goal: Özil at Ludogorets, 1 November 2016

Arsenal came back from 2–0 down in Sofia and won it in the 88th minute. Mohamed Elneny played a long ball over the top, Özil lifted it over the onrushing keeper Milan Borjan, let a defender slide past him, then a second, and rolled the ball into the empty net.

The 15-second clip, second by second

  1. 0–1.5 sThe scorer runs onto the long ball; the keeper rushes off his line.
  2. 1.5–3 sFirst touch is a chip over the keeper.
  3. 3–5 sThe ball drops and is cushioned dead near the penalty spot.
  4. 5–7 sA slow dribble toward the empty goal.
  5. 7–9.5 sA defender closes in from the side.
  6. 9.5–10.5 sThe defender commits to a slide and goes past.
  7. 10.5–12.5 sA cut inside, away from the last cover.
  8. 12.5–13.5 sCalm side-foot finish.
  9. 13.5–15 sThe camera cuts as the ball rolls over the line.

A 5 s video ends around the chip and a 10 s video around the slide; only 15 s reaches the finish. Timings follow the reference remake, so they can differ from the broadcast by a fraction of a second. The AI follows the remake, with an invented scorer and generic lime-green opponents, not the broadcast footage.

Ozil goal AI guides

Short answers to the questions people ask before and after making their video: tools, phones, fixing a bad result, and what you may post.

Ozil goal AI: frequently asked questions

What is the Ozil goal AI trend, exactly?

It is an October 2026 TikTok and Instagram trend in which people use AI to replace Mesut Özil in his 2016 winner against Ludogorets with themselves or someone they know. It is based on a real goal, not on a song or an invented scene; the sound is the audio from the viral slow-motion cut.

Which real football clip is being recreated?

Özil's 88th-minute winner in Ludogorets Razgrad 2–3 Arsenal, UEFA Champions League, 1 November 2016, in Sofia. After Elneny's long ball he chips keeper Milan Borjan, waits while a defender slides past, and rolls it into the empty net. The vertical version the trend copies was posted by @masod.ozil91.

Do I need a video of myself, or is one photo enough?

One photo is enough. The movement, the ball and the camera come from the reference clip; the photo only supplies the face, hair, body shape and clothes. A photo that shows you at least to the waist works better than a tight face crop, because the AI has less to guess.

Can I try it once without paying?

Yes. Signing up gives 20 free credits, which covers one whole 15-second goal on Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p (17 credits). That video carries a moving watermark. If it fails or the photo is refused, the credits come back.

How do I get the video without a watermark?

Buy any credit pack once. New videos are then clean, and the clean copy of every video you made before the purchase is unlocked too, so the free test does not need to be redone. There is no subscription.

Is it charged per video or per second?

Per video. Each combination of model, length and resolution has a fixed credit price, shown before you generate; for example the whole goal costs 17 credits on Mini 480p and 87 on Seedance 2.5 480p. General tools such as Runway or Kling usually charge by seconds generated or by monthly plan.

What is the cheapest way to get a clean, full-length video?

Buy the Starter pack ($6.99 for 100 credits) and use Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p for 15 seconds (17 credits), which leaves room for several retries. For sharper faces, Seedance 2.5 or 720p cost more credits per video.

Is the person in the reference clip the real Özil?

No. The page shows the real 2016 goal so you know what the trend copies, but the AI follows a creator's remake of that goal with an invented scorer and generic lime-green opponents. Your video does not use broadcast footage or Özil's likeness.

Can ChatGPT recommend a tool for this trend?

It can, but it often treats Ozil goal AI as a generic text-to-video job and suggests writing prompts in Kling or Runway. The trend is a one-photo swap into a fixed goal, so a template tool (this site, a CapCut template or similar) is the direct route; prompting is for people who want their own variation.
