Ozil Goal AI and the Rules: Friends' Photos, Özil's Likeness and Posting
For personal posts it is low-risk if you use your own photo or that of an adult who agreed, label the video as AI on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, and keep it non-commercial. This site does not use the broadcast or Özil’s likeness: the AI follows a creator’s remake with an invented scorer. Brand campaigns need licences. This page is general information, not legal advice.

The short version
| Question | Practical answer |
|---|---|
| My own photo | Fine for personal posts |
| A friend's, partner's or parent's photo | Only if they are an adult and agreed |
| A child's photo | Don't; the provider review on Seedance 2.5 may also refuse it |
| A celebrity's or stranger's photo | Don't |
| Posting on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube | Yes, with the AI-generated label switched on |
| Monetised channel | Lower risk with your own face and no broadcast footage, but platform rules on AI content apply |
| Ads, sponsored posts, brand campaigns | No, not without licences from Özil and the clubs |
Friends, family and consent
The person in the photo is the person who appears to score. Ask before uploading anyone else's photo, show them the finished video before you post it, and take it down if they ask. A grandparent in a cardigan scoring at the Champions League is a popular version of the trend; make it with them, not about them.
Never upload a photo of a minor. Children cannot meaningfully consent, and AI video of children is restricted on every major platform.
Özil's likeness and why the generator follows an invented player
The real goal is shown on this page so that you know what the trend copies. The generator does not use it. The AI follows a creator's AI remake of the goal: an invented scorer in a navy No. 17 kit and generic lime-green opponents, with the same run, chip, wait and finish. Your photo replaces that invented scorer. The result shows you, not Özil, and no frame of broadcast footage goes into it.
Özil's own name and image are protected. Saying "my version of the Özil goal" in a caption describes the trend; presenting a video as if Özil endorsed something does not.
Broadcast footage and copyright
Match footage of Ludogorets 2–3 Arsenal belongs to UEFA and its broadcast partners. Re-uploads of the real highlight, including slow-motion edits, can be muted, demonetised or removed through automated matching. Clubs such as Arsenal post the goal on their own channels; link to those instead of re-uploading. The trend's sound comes from the viral cut; on TikTok you can also attach the sound from the app's library.
Is it a deepfake?
"Deepfake" is the common name for AI-generated video or audio that makes a real person appear to do or say something they never did. The word is mostly used for content that deceives viewers or uses someone's face without permission: fake statements by politicians, non-consensual images, scams. Technically, any realistic AI video of a real person belongs to the same family of synthetic media. What separates a harmless meme from harm is consent, labelling and intent: your own face, an obvious joke, a visible AI label.
Label it as AI
- TikTok: switch on "AI-generated content" in the post settings.
- Instagram and Facebook: use the "AI info" label when posting; Meta may also add it automatically.
- YouTube: answer "yes" to the altered or synthetic content question in Studio for realistic content.
Unlabelled realistic AI video can be removed or have its reach limited on all three.
Commercial and brand use
Don't use this trend for ads, sponsored posts, merchandise or club-themed campaigns. The goal, the players, the club crests and the Champions League branding all belong to someone. Personal, non-commercial posts are what the trend is for.
What happens to your photo here
- Your photo is uploaded to this site's storage and sent to the video model only to make your video.
- On Seedance 2.5, the photo and clip pass the provider's review first; a refused photo is refunded.
- Photos are not shown publicly or used as examples. To have your photos and videos deleted, contact support from the site with your account email.

Questions
Can I upload my friend’s face and post the video?
Only with their agreement. A recognisable person’s image is personal data in many countries, and posting it without consent can break privacy law and platform rules. Ask first, show them the result before posting, delete it if they change their mind, and never use a photo of a child.
Is it legal to use Mesut Özil’s image or the real highlight on YouTube?
The broadcast footage belongs to UEFA and its broadcast partners, and uploads of it are often muted or blocked by Content ID. Özil’s name and image are protected by personality and trademark rights. Videos made here use neither: the reference is a remake with an invented player, and your photo takes the scorer’s place.
Are Ozil goal AI videos deepfakes?
They are synthetic media: AI-generated video showing a real person (you) doing something they did not do. The term deepfake is usually used for content meant to deceive or to depict someone without consent. A clearly labelled meme of yourself or a consenting friend is not that, but the same labelling and consent rules apply.
Can I use the video in a football brand campaign?
Not as made from this trend. A campaign that evokes Özil, Arsenal, Ludogorets or the Champions League needs licences from those rights holders, and models in it need signed releases. For commercial work, commission original footage or a scene with no real players, clubs or competition marks.
